Foodies and wine lovers have a lot to look forward to at The Impeccable Pig in Sedgefield in the run up to Christmas.
The venue is taking part in Durham Wine Week October 10-19 – with guests who have purchased a wristband invited to enjoy half price wine from specially curated lists at participating venues.
On October 20-25, The Impeccable Pig will be part of Teesside Restaurant Week – with three courses priced at just £25. Diners can choose from starters such as broccoli and Stilton soup, mushroom pâté, chicken and ham hock terrine, and beetroot and whipped ricotta salad. These are followed by a selection of main dishes including bacon loin chop with bubble and squeak and herb and mustard velouté; and rump of beef steak Bordelaise with creamed potato and a carrot and beef fat crumble. There is also a roast salmon butterfly with lemongrass and ginger mussels; and a butternut squash Madras. Desserts include apple and cinnamon crumble, vanilla panna cotta with caramelised banana, a blackcurrant ice cream sundae, and a double chocolate brownie with roasted hazelnut Chantilly cream.
From November 28, the venue’s Festive Fayre menu (priced at £29 for two courses and £34 for three) will be available, featuring starters such as leek and potato soup, prawn cocktail, truffled mushroom pâté, and carbonara arancini balls. Main courses include dishes such as roast salmon, a 10oz sirloin steak, Josper-fired lamb loin chops, and traditional roast turkey with all the trimmings. Desserts include pear and blackberry crumble, stem ginger and raspberry brûlée, and the Impeccable Christmas pudding.
