Turnbull’s Pork Pie Festival returns to Alnwick with 10 days of celebrations and fundraising in aid of HospiceCare North Northumberland.
Running August 21-31, the festival invites locals and visitors to enjoy unique flavours and special offers, and raise money for charity.
This year’s festival showcases eight varieties of the family business’ renowned pork pies, including Turnbull’s classic pork pie; pork and apple; pork, black pudding and stilton; the foraged pork pie (bramble and nettle cheese); caramelised onion; chorizo; cranberry; and hog roast.
There’ll also be daily tastings throughout the festival, and customers can collect stamps in their Pork Pie Passport – with those who collect all eight stamps earning a spot in a prize draw for a £50 Turnbull’s gift voucher.
There’s also a special pork pie six pack on sale for just £12.95, while 10p from every pork pie sold will be donated to HospiceCare North Northumberland – the region’s palliative care hospice.
“We’re proud that our Pork Pie Festival can play a role in supporting such an important local charity,” said Matthrew Slack, sales and marketing manager at Turnbull’s. “It means our customers can enjoy our pies knowing they’re also helping to fund essential care for families right here in Northumberland.”
Turnbull’s Pork Pie Festival has become a popular fixture on the foodie calendar – generating buzz in previous years with unique creations such as Britain’s Most Expensive Pork Pie, crafted with black truffle, beluga caviar, and 24-carat edible gold.
