The team at Alnwick-based Turnbull’s have celebrate being crowned best in the North at the British Butchery Awards.
Created by National Craft Butchers, the awards recognised the best butchers in the country with the awards ceremony held at The Belfry hotel in Nottingham. As winners were crowned across several regions, the Turnbull’s team picked up the award for Best Large Butchery Business in the North of England.
“We’re absolutely thrilled,” said Mark Turnbull, fifth-generation custodian of his family’s 144-year-old business. “This award is a huge honour and a real testament to the hard work and passion our team brings every single day. We’ve always believed in quality, local produce and traditional craftsmanship and it means the world to be recognised on a national stage.”
The British Butchery Awards shine a spotlight on independent butchers who go above and beyond in areas such as product innovation, customer service, sustainability, and community impact.
“This award isn’t just for us, it’s for our amazing customers and community who’ve supported us over the years,” added Mark’s son, Dan. “We look forward to welcoming everyone in-store to celebrate!”
This year’s British Butchery Awards were supported and led by the butchery industry – with a panel of judges evaluating each finalist for their commitment to the industry, sustainability, commerciality and butchery.
