It’s all happening in the veggie/vegan world here in the North East, where Quorn has opened the world’s biggest meat-alternative production facility and vegan food producer Hooba is crowdfunding an expansion. First to Quorn, whose site in Billingham has been expanded to double its production capacity to 1.33m packs of Quorn products every week. Meanwhile, over at Hooba vegan foods in Darlington, there are high hopes of raising £250,000 on crowdfund site Crowdcube to expand with the huge growth in plant-based diets.
