Delifresh Young Chef of the Year competition

Delifresh Young Chef of The Year final set for November 5

The final of the Delifresh Young Chef of The Year competition is set to take place at St James’ Park on November 5, with some of the country’s most exciting young chefs cooking for the top prize.

Now in its third year, the competition began with heats for chefs aged 25 and under at Leeds City College, Middlesbrough College, and Betty’s Cookery School in Harrogate from October 1-8.

Each heat saw chefs prepare their best dishes to impress a panel of judges, including the legendary Pierre Koffmann. The top eight chefs from the heats will now head to St James’ Park for the Grand Final, where they will cook a three-course menu showcasing their skill, innovation and passion for the culinary arts.

Robert Ramsden, marketing director at Delifresh – a leading provider of fresh produce and speciality ingredients for the hospitality industry – said: “We are incredibly excited about the Young Chef of the Year competition. This event not only showcases the immense talent and creativity of the young chefs, but also highlights the importance of nurturing the next generation of chefs in the industry. We are thrilled to have such a fantastic panel of judges and look forward to an exhilarating competition.”

Tickets for the final, which will include a trade hall with 60 suppliers as well as the chance to see the chefs in action, can be reserved here.
