The Blackbird’s Burns’ Night celebration returns

The Blackbird, Ponteland will once again host its Burns’ Night celebration on January 25 with a traditional menu prepared by head chef Ralph Hellens.

The set menu will start with cullen skink followed by haggis, neeps and tatties, and a nip of whisky to toast the haggis before a main of slow braised feather blade of beef with a bacon and potato pie, carrot, beetroot and a red wine jus.

Vanilla and white chocolate mousse served with raspberries, hob nob biscuit and honey ice cream will follow before ending the evening with whisky chocolate truffles.

The set menu costs £40 per person and the venue can accommodate all dietary requirements if this is specified at the time of booking. Spaces for the evening are limited and must be booked in advance by calling 01661 822684, with a £10 per head deposit.
