Michelin Guide 2026: 1610 at The Globe Inn maintains its listing for 2026

1610 at The Globe

The team at The Globe Inn, Dumfries is celebrating once again after its fine-dining restaurant, 1610, retained its listings in the Michelin Guide for 2026.

This year’s publication marks the fourth in a row to include the restaurant. Situated in the heart of Dumfries, The Globe Inn – first established in 1610 – is renowned as the “favourite howff” of bard Robert Burns. While the building’s snug bars and timber-panelled rooms remain a shrine to the poet’s life, the 1610 restaurant has transformed the former stables into an atmospheric sanctuary for modern Scottish cuisine.

Jonathan Brett, head of cuisine for the Annandale Distillery Group, said: “To be included in the Michelin Guide once again is a profound recognition of the team’s tireless dedication to culinary excellence. Since we first entered the guide in 2022, our mission has been to elevate casual fine dining by treating every local ingredient with absolute respect. Our kitchen garden at Comlongon has become the heartbeat of our menu, allowing us to showcase the technical precision of our chefs through the purest, most immediate flavours available in Scotland”.

Fraser Cameron, head chef at 1610 and a former Scottish Young Chef of the Year, added: “Working with the produce from our own garden allows us to push the boundaries of technical precision while staying true to our roots. For me, professional success is a platform for community empowerment; whether we are plating a seven-course tasting menu or mentoring the next generation of talent, the goal is always to prove that world-class excellence and local inclusivity can coexist beautifully in Dumfries”.
