Amason Drinks is set to build on the success of its Christmas Party at Estate Tea Company in Heaton with a series of cocktail pop-ups featuring some of the best bartending talent in the North East.
Each of the Monday night events throughout February will see bartenders utilise teas from Estate Tea Company in a range of exciting drinks.
Angus Mason, the man behind Amason Drinks, will take the reins for the first event on February 5. Having cut his teeth at some of the finest restaurants in Scotland, Angus returned to his native North East as part of the team at the Michelin starred House of Tides. After helping Kenny Atkinson with the bar programme at sister venue Solstice, Angus went on to neighbourhood brasserie Ophelia in South Gosforth. He has been working freelance since the end of 2023, and his appearances at Estate Tea are set to be the first of many collaborations in 2024.
Dan Crosby will be part of the event on February 12. After working at Cloth Market venue Mother Mercy alongside his university studies, Dan went on to work for Public in Sheffield, a venue regularly featured in the UK’s top 50 bars. Upon his return to Newcastle, he joined 21 group and can be found at St Vincent on Broad Chare.
On February 19, Chris and Becca Green – AKA Hummingbird – will lead the event. Specialising in ready to drink cocktails, they have won high praise for their drinks and their continental style café bar, Hummingbird Amble.
The final event will be led by Luke Riley, who has been running the show at Mother Mercy since day one. Luke has been up and down the country and onwards into the continent doing guest shifts at some of the best bars in the world – most notably Swift in Soho – and will lead the event on February 26.
Tickets, including a welcome drink, are £6 and can be booked here. Each event will run 6-11pm with a gyoza menu available until 9pm.
