Michelin-recommended restaurant Faru in Durham has launched new private dining offers in response to a revival in corporate entertaining.
Faru – run by husband-and-wife team Laura and Jake Siddle – has expanded its tasting menu concept to include private dining and corporate packages, giving groups the chance to enjoy an exclusive experience centred around carefully crafted food and wine.
The move comes after a successful summer and pre-Christmas period of bookings from businesses reinvesting in face-to-face connection.
“We had an influx of enquiries from corporates looking to host team celebrations and business lunches with us, as well as wanting to book Faru for client hospitality,” said co-owner and head chef Jake.
The menu follows the same format as the main restaurant, which uses flavour-led and locally sourced ingredients – with dishes such as Yorkshire duck with plum and salsify; Halibut with apple, turnip and Champagne; and a Hen of the Woods mushroom dish with hispi cabbage and dashi broth.
Bespoke menus can also be created, and Faru also caters for certain dietary requirements.
“We quickly realised after speaking with a number of law firms and other businesses which had inquired that we were missing a trick. Our private dining packages are designed to be informal, where guests can enjoy the theatre of the open plan kitchen and relax with exceptional food, wine and company. It’s a dining experience that feels personal and memorable, rather than a standard event package,” said Laura.
Despite only recently launching, the response has been immediate, with bookings not only coming in from solicitors and blue-chip businesses but also from individuals planning celebrations and milestone occasions.
The private dining experience is available for groups of 15-28 guests. For more information, visit www.faru.co.uk
