The team behind Restaurant Pine has announced the return of their charity fundraiser in aid of Cancer Research UK – as they set their sights on raising even more money in 2026.
Plans for ThirdBite 2026 are already well underway – with the team working hard to deliver another standout event as they aim to surpass the £116,462.06 raised in 2025.
Following the success of the past two years, the 2026 event will once again bring together 20 of the UK’s leading chefs, each serving their own take on streetfood dishes.
ThirdBite will take place on Sunday July 19 at Wylam Brewery (Palace of Arts, Newcastle) with dish tokens set to go on sale soon.
As with previous editions, ThirdBite has been designed to take chefs out of their usual kitchen environments, giving guests the chance to experience a more relaxed and creative side of some of the country’s most exciting culinary talent. Each dish will offer an insight into what makes each chef tick – blending personality, flavour and imagination.
With only 500 portions of each dish available on the day, you’ll need to plan ahead. Entry to the event is free, with dish tokens priced at £10 and available for purchase in advance.
Guests can keep up to date with the latest announcements at www.3rdbitefestival.co.uk and on Instagram (@3rd_bite_fest) – as the team looks to add to the £198,525.06 raised over the last two years.
Alongside the stellar chef lineup and Wylam Brewery’s drinks offering, a selection of local DJs will provide entertainment throughout the day. The event will also feature a special online auction with a range of foodie experiences and prizes. Businesses interested in donating auction prizes should contact Sian Byerley at sian@restaurantpine.co.uk.
All proceeds from ThirdBite will be donated to Cancer Research UK – helping to support more than 4,000 researchers, clinicians, and nurses who are working to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer, and to bring hope to millions of people now and in the future.
Every year, thousands of adults and children are diagnosed with cancer, and many of us know someone whose life has been affected by the disease. Increased funding is vital in enabling charities like Cancer Research UK to develop better treatments, improve outcomes, and provide practical advice and support for individuals and families facing the challenges cancer brings.
Siân Byerley, co-owner of Restaurant Pine, said: “Last year’s SecondBite blew the fundraising figure from 2024 out of the water. Every year, we’re completely overwhelmed by the generosity shown by everyone involved – from the chefs, suppliers and sponsors who make the event possible to the thousands of people who attend, buy tokens and bid in the auction. Thanks to that support, we raised an incredible £198,525 across 2024 and 2025.
“For ThirdBite, the whole team is determined to make it a real milestone year and raise a serious amount of money for Cancer Research UK. We all know someone who has been impacted by cancer, which is why supporting this incredible charity means so much to us. We’d love for people to join us on July 19 and help us make a difference.”
