The Impeccable Pig named AA Inn of the Year

The Impeccable Pig has been named AA Inn of the Year as it marks its third birthday.

The Sedgefield, Co Durham inn, which is home to luxury accommodation featuring hot tubs and an outdoor sauna, was praised by experts at this year’s AA Bed and Breakfast Awards.

The award is a first for a venue in the North East and Pierre Bertolotti, general manager at The Impeccable Pig, was delighted to be recognised.

“It’s fantastic to be named AA Inn of the Year 2021, especially at a time which has been such a challenge for all those in the industry,” he said. “Everyone at the venue prides themselves on going above and beyond to provide the best possible guest experience, so it’s brilliant to have our efforts validated by such an esteemed organisation.”

Simon Numphud, managing director of AA Hotel & Hospitality Services, said: “Congratulations to the Impeccable Pig on winning the AA Inn of the Year award. This inn is full of character and has so much to commend it, including the subtly themed rooms, all of which feature a freestanding copper and nickel bath. The AA Rosette quality food features pub classics that allow the kitchen team to showcase their skills and the hospitality offered across the inn excels in every respect.”

The Impeccable Pig is home to 10 individually decorated bedrooms, with themed names including Globe Trotter, Pigsty, Three Little Pigs and Babe – and will soon add two new master suites – Squealers and Hefner – which will be available to book from late October.

Located behind the restaurant in the old brick Coach House, ground floor rooms have access to their own private patio with a hot tub, while those staying on the first floor can enjoy 7ft wide beds and freestanding copper baths.
