Sunderland chef to launch new fine dining restaurant

Chef Christopher Spence is set to open a new fine dining restaurant in Sunderland after taking over the site of D’Acqua in the city.

Christopher, the man behind home fine dining experience Emily’s Table, hopes to launch Undisclosed on St John’s Street on May 17 following a £10,000 renovation of the space.

The new restaurant will draw on Christopher’s experience of hidden, speakeasy-inspired bars in Australia with a focus on fine dining menus and molecular cocktails. He said: “We are grateful to Jimmy and Hannah Shadforth, current owners of D’Acqua, for the opportunity and wish them the very best in their new venture. We also thank them for allowing us to fulfil our vision for Undisclosed and carry on from everything they have achieved over the last 13 years. We are excited to bring this unique experience to Sunderland and welcome old and new clients alike.”
