The North East’s best pubs have been included in The Good Food Guide’s 100 Best Pubs.

The list is led by The Broad Chare in Newcastle, which won the Readers’ Choice Award and was placed 15th in the new list. The top 100 also includes The Rat Inn in Anick (23rd), The Kirkstyle Inn & Sportsman’s Rest (51st), The Feathers Inn in Hedley on the Hill (57th), and The Ship Inn in Low Newton by the Sea (67th).

The list was topped by The Highland Laddie in Leeds, and Good Food Guide editor Chloë Hamilton said: “We went searching for the pubs that nail the drinking and dining side of the equation. It turns out the harder you look the more you find, and they’re not all hidden away in the Cotswolds.”
