Pine and The Raby Hunt named among Britain’s 20 most exciting restaurants

Two Michelin-starred The Raby Hunt and Michelin-starred Pine have been included in The Good Food Guide’s list of the Top 20 Most Exciting restaurants in Britain for 2022.

The guide, now in its 70th year, provides diners with current, authoritative and independent guidance on the best places to eat across Britain. The Top 20 most exciting list was chosen by independent, impartial inspectors and features restaurants from across the UK.

The Raby Hunt was selected as number four in the list, while Pine entered at number 13 following its exceptional rating from the inspectors earlier this year. The listing for Pine also follows the team achieving their first Michelin star and Michelin Green Star in February.

The Raby Hunt’s chef patron, James Close, said: “To have been placed number four out of the entire country – and up against such incredible opposition – is a real achievement for both me and the entire team. It shows our commitment and continued striving for perfection has paid off.”

Pine chef patron Cal Byerley and co-owner and front of house manager Sian Buchan said: “This year has just been beyond belief! To feature alongside the likes of L’Enclume, Ynyshir, Moor Hall and Raby Hunt is amazing. Being listed at No.13 is mega news for us, especially as we didn’t expect to feature in The Guide at this level. It means that the inspectors have recognised the hard work of every member of the team in making Pine what it is, which is a massive pat on the back for everyone.”
