More to come from WL Distillery

Two years after the first bottle of gin left WL Distillery, the Co Durham-based distillery is expanding its site, increasing capacity and looking to grow its team.

Already a winner of gold at The Gin Masters and listed in the London Spirits Top 100, WL has also made Vogue’s Hot List and GQ’s Cocktail Club, while its hand sanitiser has been acquired by the Science Museum Group as part of its COVID-19 Collecting Project.

Founder and managing director Scott Wilson-Laing said: “We have been on an incredible journey and are delighted with the growth of the company to date. The new site will see us expand our operations to enable us to continue to make our award-winning gins. The introduction of a larger still and an enhanced storage area will enable us to launch a variety of new and exciting spirits making us one of only a hand full of distilleries within England doing so. The expansion will also enable us to increase our workforce creating skilled jobs within the region in a very exciting and dynamic industry.”
