Matfen Hall has launched three new menus in its Emerald Restaurant alongside a Summer Escape offer.
The seasonal tasting menu includes salt-aged beef fillet – served with ox-stuffed Roscoff onion, watercress, Hasselback potato and Bordelaise sauce; scallop ceviche with pineapple salsa, jalapeños and puffed wild rice; and decadent desserts such as hazelnut gianduja. Each dish is served with expert wine pairings.
Emerald has also launched a Table d’hote menu – offering diners the chance to experience cheese and truffle gougère, served with Laurent-Perrier heritage; chicken liver parfait with cherry jam and sourdough crisps; grilled mackerel with avocado purée, coriander and pineapple salsa; braised pork belly with wet polenta and shiitake mushroom; halibut with confit fennel and shellfish bisque; Cocoa Pod – Valrhona dark chocolate mousse with cocoa nibs; and a selection of British and French cheeses.
There is also a new vegetarian menu comprising dishes such as soy tofu, Enoki mushroom bao bun, and Isle of Wight tomato and charred cauliflower – all available with selected wine pairings.
Guests looking for more relaxed options can dine in Cloisters Restaurant and Bar, while Keepers provides a contemporary, relaxed venue overlooking the estate’s golf course.
Meanwhile, the new Summer Escape three for two offer invites guests to retreat to Northumberland’s countryside.
From June 1-October 1, guests are invited to stay three nights for the price of two. The offer includes three nights’ luxury accommodation for the price of two, an à la carte breakfast each morning in the Emerald; complimentary access to The Retreat, including pool, thermal suite and gym; early check-in and late check-out (subject to availability); and Penhaligon’s of London toiletries.
