Corbridge’s coffee and chocolate truffle room, Coffuffle, has celebrated its first birthday.
Founded by chocolatier Philip Weddle, the shop has produced more than 28,500 handmade Belgian truffles since opening its doors.
With a background in the hospitality industry, Philip opened Coffuffle in May 2021 having been a hobby chocolatier for six years. The ever-changing menu features truffles from sea-salted caramel to a vegan dark chocolate and coconut option, while Coffuffle’s signature hand-roasted house coffee blend of Kenya AA Grade and Brazil Santos 100% Arabica beans is roasted to order by Recent Beans in Castleford.
“I’m really proud of what we’ve managed to achieve in our first year,” said Philip. “I love being part of the Corbridge community and I’m looking forward to lots of adventures in coffee and truffles in the years ahead.”
