Gosforth Beer Festival returns August 5-7

After a three-year break, the Gosforth Beer Festival – Gosforth Civic Theatre’s family-friendly weekend of beers, bands, food and games – returns Friday August 5 to Sunday August 7.

With 2019’s festival attracting more than 2,000 visitors from across the North East, the team at the charity-run venue were keen to bring Gosforth Beer Festival back this summer and have lined up more than 20 craft beers on cask and keg, a packed bill of musical talent, and some of the region’s best streetfood.

Celebrated local and national brewers will be part of the three-day event, including Allendale, Almasty, Cloudwater, Left Handed Giant, Northern Alchemy, Outthere and Two by Two, with more to be announced in the coming weeks.

Meanwhile, streetfood vendors taking part so far include Meat Stack, Scream for Pizza, Acropolis, Chuchos, and Parmo-rama.

Live music will also be a big part of the event, along with plenty of entertainment for the whole family on Saturday and Sunday afternoons – from puppets to retro gaming.

The festival takes place on Friday August 5 (4pm-midnight), Saturday August 6 (noon-midnight) and Sunday August 7 (noon-8pm), and entry is free.

The festival will support Liberdade Community Development Trust, which owns and runs the Gosforth Civic Theatre. Liberdade gives people with learning disabilities and autism the opportunity to belong, work and get involved in the arts and their community. Liberdade group members will be volunteering at the festival all weekend. If you’d like to get involved in Gosforth Beer Festival, you can sponsor a Liberdade volunteer, sponsor a beer, and more.
