Matfen Hall is set to welcome the festive season in style with Christmas experiences.
First, guests at Northumberland’s only AA five-star hotel can embrace the artistry of the season with wreath making masterclasses hosted by local florist Kate Norris of Northumbrian Flowers. The events, on November 28 and December 5, invite guests to create bespoke wreaths using seasonal foliage grown in the Northumberland countryside. Guests will also enjoy Christmas lunch in the Sapphire Dining Room as part of the events.
Matfen Hall will be transformed into a winter wonderland as it welcomes Father Christmas on December 5-7, 12-14 and 20 – offering children the chance to meet him in his festive workshop. Each child will enjoy hot chocolate, a festive gift, and time in the creative colouring station, while accompanying adults can enjoy complimentary drinks.
James O’Donnell, head of commercial development at Matfen Hall, said: “Christmas is a time for connection, celebration and contentment – and as Northumberland’s first and only five-star destination, Matfen Hall is proud to offer experiences that truly reflect Christmas’ quintessential spirit of indulgence. From the wonder of a child meeting Father Christmas, to a luxurious stay that captures the true opulence of the season, every detail has been designed to make this your most magical Christmas.”
Matfen Hall has also launched two overnight festive stay packages – the Emerald Festive Stay, featuring mulled wine on Christmas Eve, a fireside Champagne and canapés reception on Christmas Day, and a five-course Christmas lunch in the Emerald Restaurant; and the Cloisters Festive Stay, which includes three-course dining and a Champagne and Canapé Reception. Guests can also visit to enjoy the New Year’s Eve gala – with a black-tie dinner, live entertainment and fireworks.
