Michelin-starred North East chef James Close is in the running for one of the biggest honours in the culinary world. The chef patron of the 2 Michelin star Raby Hunt at Summerhouses near Darlington is a candidate for the world Chef Top100 at the Best Chef Awards in Barcelona in September. Other world-renowned names who have featured on the list include Rene Redzepi of Noma in Copenhagen and last year, only two British names made it through – Heston Blumenthal and Clare Smyth.
