North East-based bartender Angus Mason has been included in the World Class GB top 100 list for a second consecutive year.
Angus’ 2025 entry for the Diageo-run competition – Keepsake – celebrates the flavours of honey and whisky. It is served in a keepsake box adorned with honeycomb paintwork, with a vintage cocktail glass also inside the box. The cocktail comes in a beeswax-lined bottle with a Singleton whisky lip-balm made with the help of Chain Bridge Honey Farm’s cosmetics department. For the cocktail, Angus paired figs and honey with Singleton 12-year-old single malt – featuring hints of blood orange, porcini mushroom, vanilla and toasted almond.
Angus runs Newcastle Cocktail Kitchen – a North Shields-based cocktail production company that works with bars and restaurants on their drinks programmes and has a full range of RTD cocktails as well as hosting events and masterclasses.
Also featured in the top 100 list are James Brown (Mother Mercy) and Luke Riley (Restaurant Pine).
