Tastes of NYC

Carter & Fitch, the smokehouse and pizzeria named for its founders – one-time unwilling colleagues of notorious New York gangster Al Capone – is set to open a new branch in South Tyneside. The New York kitchen will be at Boldon’s Clarion Hotel, formerly the Quality Hotel and part of the same stable as the George Washington Hotel, which is also home to a Carter & Fitch restaurant.
