Exciting news for Newcastle foodies – new Quayside restaurant Khai Khai is partnering with Fenwick to offer its unique concept in the department store’s Food Hall from April 12.
The collaboration will see Khai Khai offer a Fire it Up @ Home range of smoke-infused small plates, curries, fresh sides and desserts alongside On The Go Salads daily.
Queen Street restaurant Khai Khai, which opened in late 2020, draws on hundreds of years of food heritage and elemental cooking techniques from the Indian subcontinent. The restaurant brings together some of the subcontinent’s most respected chefs and takes the traditional methods of using fire and smoke from wood and charcoal to further enhance the complex flavours of dishes rooted in the home kitchens and markets of south Asia.
The menu has been built around elemental cooking and will offer a journey through the culinary hotspots of south Asia with recipes passed down through generations and perfected using local produce and simple cooking methods in revolutionary Josper or age-old tandoor ovens.
