More time to enjoy Kennedy & Rhind

The team at Kennedy & Rhind is looking to build on the success of the Jesmond café and artisan bakery with extended opening hours and the introduction of an evening service.

Kennedy & Rhind has proved a hit since opening thanks to the hand-crafted pastries and savouries made by chefs David Kennedy and Murray Rhind.

As well as selling fresh baked goods on Holly Avenue West, the name has also won a big following at several pop-ups – including Jesmond Food Market and at the Blackbird pub in Ponteland.

To capitalise on the success, the café will be extending its opening hours on Fridays and Saturdays until 8pm from Friday June 24, offering a new and expanded menu alongside usual favourites. From Sunday to Thursday – starting June 26 – the café will also be opening until 5pm.

The new menu includes light bites such as carpaccio of beef with a rocket, tomato and parmesan salad; whipped cod roe, fennel, dill and watercress salad served with sourdough; and a vegan soba noodle salad with crispy tofu and soy and sesame dressing. There expanded menu also features spatchcock harissa and lemon chicken with souk roast root veg; blackened roast salmon, black beans and Mediterranean vegetables with an avocado and mango salsa; and a vegan curry option.
