Wynyard Hall has appointed Gareth Rayner as its new executive head chef.
A graduate of Kirby College in Middlesbrough, Gareth brings more than 20 years’ experience to the kitchen.
Having worked in pubs in his hometown, he joined Middleton Lodge and oversaw food for the multiple outlets there and earned 4 AA Rosettes. At Wynyard, he is looking to create seasonal, modern British menus, with a plot to plate ethos.
He said: “The key to producing quality food is always having salt, good music and a good atmosphere in any kitchen, be it home or work.
“I’m excited to bring a new approach to the estate and modern British dining, ushering in an exciting new phase”.
Gareth will oversee Wynyard’s Glass House restaurant, which overlooks the kitchen garden, as well as banqueting and events at Wynyard Hall.
