Change at the top for Six

Fresh Element, the company behind Six on the top floor of BALTIC, Gateshead has welcomed three new directors to lead its next chapter.

Greg Lambert, previously executive chef is stepping up to food director, former general manager Roy Ng is stepping up to operations director, and Charley Currie has moved into the role of events director.  Between them they have more than 23 years’ of service in the company.

Meanwhile, the co-founders of Fresh Element, Andy Ross and Pete Hunt, who have been heading up the business for nearly 15 years, are stepping back to give the new team a chance to stamp their own signature on the restaurant.

New menus and longer opening hours are already in place, with Six’s new brunch service running Wed-Sun from 10am. An expanded Afternoon Tea offering is also on the way.

Greg said: “I couldn’t be more excited – and determined – about the future. Six means the world to me – I’ve already invested a lot of my career in making this stunning restaurant a successful destination – and for Pete and Andy and the Board to recognise my personal investment – and that of Roy and Charley – this couldn’t be more thrilling and rewarding.”
