Gosforth enoteca Carruthers & Kent has three big events coming up, celebrating wines and winemakers from around the world.
On Thursday February 13, Restaurant Pine sommelier Vanessa Stoltz will host a Polish and Central Europe tasting with Adam Michocki of Central Wines. Taking guests through the portfolio, they’ll discuss wines from Poland, Georgia and Belgium. The event starts at 7pm and tickets are £25.
On Thursday February 20, Leah Newman of Whispering Wine will host a Bulgarian wine tasting event. The southern Bulgarian wine region, also known as the Thracian Lowlands, is a vast area which stretches from the Struma Valley to the Black Sea and the Greek and Turkish borders. It has a diverse range of terroir, and a huge array of wine styles and grape varieties. The event starts at 7pm and tickets are £25.
Finally, Matthew Jukes is returning to Newcastle and teaming up with Mo and Claire from Carruthers & Kent to host the Top 100 Australian Wines 2025 event at Wylam Brewery. The final leg of Matthew’s festival season will take place on Sunday March 30, with up to 60 of his top 100 Australian wines on show. The event takes place 2pm-5pm and tickets are £30.
