Brocksbushes launches monthly Friday Food Fair

Brocksbushes is hosting a new monthly outdoor Food Fair on the last Friday of the month, celebrating food and drink produced in the North East.

The first Friday Food Fair took place in May alongside the Kid’s Fun Zone, and thanks to its success, the fair will return to the picturesque garden area behind the Farm Shop & Tea Room on Friday June 25 from 10am-3pm.

Andrew Calder of Calder’s Kitchen said: “As a producer, it’s fantastic to team up with other local businesses and to be able to showcase our products – including our new range of chutneys – and tell our story to Brocksbushes’ customers.”

Harry Dickinson, director of Brocksbushes, added: “We have always championed local produce in both the Farm Shop and the Tea Room, so we can’t wait to welcome more producers from across the North East. Our aim is that the Friday Food Fair becomes a must-visit for local residents and visitors from further afield.”

The Brocksbushes team have been working with Food & Drink North East to further develop relationships with suppliers across the region. Nichola Reeder, FADNE’s events coordinator, added: “It has been a massively challenging 18 months for small food and drink producers in the North East and we continue to be inspired by their resilience, passion and creativity. It’s really encouraging to see exciting venues like Brocksbushes delivering food fairs and markets that support our growing food and drink sector, creating the perfect platform for suppliers to meet consumers who are eager to keep buying local. We can’t wait to visit one of the monthly Friday Food Fairs and meet even more of the brilliant producers from our region – good luck to everyone involved in this exciting initiative.’’
