Northumberland restaurant Pine has been listed at number 38 in the National Restaurant Awards Top 100 – marking the team’s fifth consecutive year on the list.
Chef-owner Cal Byerley and operations director and co-owner Sian Byerley learned the news at an awards ceremony at The Magazine in London’s Docklands.
The National Restaurant Awards – which are now in their 19th year – celebrate the brilliance and vibrancy of the UK’s dining scene, rewarding the very best chefs, front-of-house staff, and restaurants from Michelin-starred dining rooms to casual neighbourhood restaurants and gastropubs.
The list of the 100 best restaurants in the UK is voted for by 200 industry experts from across the country including chefs, restaurateurs, critics, and food writers.
The UK is divided into 11 regions, with judges voting for the top seven restaurants they have dined at in the previous 12 months, in order of preference, alongside 17 special award categories including Chef of the Year, Opening of the Year, and Wine List of the Year.
“Being included in the National Restaurant Awards is a huge pat on the back for the whole team, and we’re so proud of their commitment and sheer hard work,” said Cal and Sian. “The team has to pull together and work hard for everything to gel and when that happens, it’s pretty special. We’re lucky to have the team that we do, people who constantly go above and beyond to ensure our guests have an amazing time when they dine with us. We want to say a huge thank you to every single one of them for what they do.”
