Hjem Vin returns at South Causey Inn

More than 150 guests attended the relaunch of Hjem Vin, marking the return of the Hjem team’s outdoor dining concept at South Causey Inn.

Set within the grounds of The Farmhouse, where Hjem is enjoying a six-month residency, the launch barbecue saw chef-patron Alex Nietosvuori cook alongside his father, Swedish barbecue specialist Ulf Nietosvuori. The menu featured hot smoked salmon with agave and lemon, sirloin cooked over fire, pulled pork and slow-cooked pork belly alongside spicy roast potatoes, cream corn, mac and cheese, and grilled sweetcorn.

Introduced during the Covid-19 pandemic at Hjem’s former Northumberland restaurant, Hjem Vin quickly developed a loyal following. The South Causey event marked its first return since the team temporarily relocated to County Durham earlier this year while their next project, Restaurant Freyja, takes shape in Wylam.

Following the first event, Hjem Vin will continue on Saturdays and Sundays throughout the residency.
