The Northumberland Arms – the coaching inn at the heart of Felton – has entered an exciting new chapter in its long history following its acquisition by hospitality entrepreneurs Jack Brown and Alice Lawson.
The duo, who recently led the successful revamp of Hadrian’s Hotel in Wall, have taken ownership of the historic riverside venue in Felton, and they are aiming to deliver exceptional hospitality, quality food and drink, and celebrate the character of Northumberland.
The Northumberland Arms was built by Hugh Percy, third Duke of Northumberland, in the 1820s. Since then, it has been a popular destination for locals and visitors alike, and Jack and Alice are committed to preserving the inn’s heritage while introducing thoughtful improvements designed to enhance the guest experience.
“We are delighted to have been given the opportunity to take on the Northumberland Arms,” said Jack. “[Previous owners] Stuart and Sue have developed a great brand and reputation over the last six years, and we intend to build on the brilliant product and add our personality over the coming months.”
