Appetite Spring 2026 out now

The Spring 2026 edition of Appetite is available in all our favourite foodie places now

The Spring 2026 edition of Appetite is out now and while we had a long wait, it’s great the colours, flavours and warmth of springtime are back.

Given that the long, dark winter is now behind us, we wanted to pack this edition with colour and positivity,

Our profile for this edition takes us to Bays Leap Farm to meet the incredibly passionate and inspiring Chris McDonald – and lots of his beautiful cows. A pioneering farmer and exponent of organic and raw milk, Chris’ story and his energy for caring for his herd as well as the land makes for a great story, which is brilliantly told by Zoe Robertson.

Zoe has also been to Sunderland and Sana Soul Food for this edition – where executive assistant turned café operator and matcha flagbearer Hannah Jackson has become an important part of the growing food scene in the heart of the city, which is evolving alongside that of the seafront at Roker.

Meanwhile, our columnists are all back to share what they’ve been up to – from Ann’s busy start to the year in the garden to Laura’s adventures, Helen’s pick of the best new cookbooks, Linda’s deep dive on onions, Chris’ latest Condiment Corner recipe, and our beer expert – and newly qualified beer sommelier – Daisy’s latest diary entry.

David has also been busy exploring the history and growing success of English sparkling wine – and he has put together a wine list which is perfect for spring and early summer evenings.

Add in exciting news, some recipes and lots more, and there is plenty to whet your appetite in this edition.
