Firebrick Brewery and Big River Bakery launch Stottie Beer

Firebrick and Big Rive rBakery Stottie Beer

Firebrick Brewery and Big River Bakery – two North East-based independent businesses passionate about working with their local communities – launched a collaboration beer as part of Stottie Week in February.

Stottie Beer showcases how food waste can be tackled, re-purposing stale stottie cakes to make the beer – which has been well received and is available in cask, keg and 440ml cans.

As well as being available on the Firebrick website, you can find Stottie Beer in several local pubs and shops including The Firebrick in the Grainger Market, Fenwick, and Firebrick Brewery’s shop and tap in Blaydon.

Big River Bakery’s Andy Haddon and Alistair Lawrence from Firebrick Brewery have been delighted with the uptake and are looking into collecting unwanted bread from other local outlets to make Stottie Beer a core product in the Firebrick range.
