TV’s queen of clean turns queen of Christmas in Grainger Delivery advert

Kim Woodburn stars as Mrs Claus in this year’s Christmas commercial for Grainger Delivery.

Donning red cape and gloves, Kim – star of How Clean is Your House and a participant on Big Brother and I’m a Celebrity… – narrates the animated tale of Tip Top in The Elf Who Saved Christmas.

Following filming at the 320-year-old Alderman Fenwick House on Pilgrim Street in Newcastle last month, Kim said: “It’s wonderful to be involved in such a lovely festive project. I’m a huge fan of Newcastle, it’s a beautiful friendly city. I adore working with children and with the book on the back of the project raising money for The Chronicle Sunshine Fund, I just had to get involved – it’s been a wonderful experience.”

This year’s Grainger Delivery commercial is animated with illustrations created by local illustrator Monique Scott – who has worked with writer Craig Wilde to publish a book of the story, which is on sale now (£9.99, www.graingerdelivery.com). Proceeds of the sale of the book will go to The Chronicle Sunshine Fund.

This year’s commercial is available to watch now on Facebook, YouTube and Instagram.

Siobhan Sargent, charity director at The Chronicle Sunshine Fund, said: “As a North East charity, supporting local children living with disabilities, additional needs and terminal illnesses, we know only too well how important it is to support local. We rely solely on the kindness and generosity of local organisations, communities and individuals to fund life-changing, specialist equipment for our children and their families. We wholeheartedly thank everyone who buys this book, which will allow us to continue to support children in need in our local communities.”

Craig Wilde added: “We wanted to do something extra special with Grainger Delivery this year – it’s been a huge success story for the city and region, born out of the Grainger Market’s response to the pandemic and is still going strong. Last year’s commercial was quite magical, and we think this year we’ve gone one step up – not only producing this festive tale, but also in the book being able to give back to the wider community through the great work of The Chronicle Sunshine Fund.”

Darren Phillips, operations director of Grainger Delivery – whose son and nephew star in the commercial, said: “We were honoured to have Kim Woodburn onboard for this year’s Christmas commercial. It’s great to have our boys involved again this year alongside Craig’s niece – it’s an experience we all will treasure, and we get to give something back to the wider community through the book. It all makes for a very merry Christmas.”
