The rum is stocked, the grills are ready for firing, and Turtle Bay Durham is set to open its doors to the public on Friday October 15.
The Caribbean restaurant and bar opens on The Riverwalk Durham with a new cocktail menu, Caribbean soul food classics, and island beach shack party vibes every day – from breakfast through to the small hours.
Ryan Sullivan, general manager of Turtle Bay Durham, said: “Summer might be over, but Turtle Bay is ready to transport the people of Durham and the North East to the Caribbean, just what we all need as the nights draw in. We open with a whole new collection of tropical cocktails to make the magic of a Caribbean Social come to life and an island-inspired all-day menu for every kind of foodie, from vegan to clean-and-lean to Jerk Pit BBQ, fiery curries, breakfasts, burgers and beach-themed salads.”

The 4,850sqft two-storey venue at The Riverwalk Durham with views across to UNESCO World Heritage Site Durham Cathedral and Castle has been created by Fusion Design and Architecture and features a central island bar, open kitchen, flaming jerk-pit and grill, indoor veranda seating plus Reggae and D’Rum themed rooms. Rum headlines the new cocktail menu, which includes pineapple daiquiris, coconut and grapefruit mojito and grapefruit fizzes.
Open for reservations and walk-ins, Turtle Bay Durham will open at 10am and close at 11.30pm on week days and keep the party going until late Thursday through Saturday.
As well as serving up a lively soulful vibe and Caribbean-inspired dishes, Turtle Bay is also bringing its Happy Hours to Durham every day, when guests can enjoy 2-4-1 cocktails and mocktails at selected times. The entire cocktail and mocktail menu is also vegan-friendly, along with an abundance of plant-based dishes across the main menu.
