England’s highest pub is opening an outlet at the St James’ STACK in Newcastle.
The Tan Hill Inn will be serving up comfort food favourites, including Yorkshire pudding wraps which include a choice of slow roast beef or pork, lemon and herb chicken or a veggie nut roast, with buttered mash, honey roasted carrots and seasonal greens wrapped in a giant pudding, served with gravy, as well as steak and ale, chicken and ham or Saag Aloo pies, plus fish and chips, pigs in blankets and a special children’s menu.
Andrew Hields, owner of the original Tan Hill Inn in Swaledale and the outlet at STACK, is looking forward to the opening. “We have visitors who come to the Tan Hill Inn from around the world because it’s such an iconic place,” he said. “Along with its long history, it is also renowned for its fantastic, hearty food and that’s exactly what we’re now recreating at St.James’ STACK.”
