Sweet tooth

Beamish Museum sweets, made to traditional methods at the Jubilee sweet shop in its 1900s Town of the North, are now being stocked by selected retailers, including Knitsley Farm Shop in Co Durham. The sweets are delivered by staff in Edwardian costume and Knitsley Farm Shop owner Rachael Jewson was thrilled to be asked to stock them. “We’re always looking for new local products to support our own homemade produce and the connection with Beamish is fantastic,” she said. Rachel and the team at Knitsley are also celebrating being crowned regional winner in the in the Best Butchery category of the Countryside Alliance Awards.
