Buddha Lounge’s Asian-inspired menu has won high praise with its mix of tapas-style dishes from across the continent. Grace Kelly’s
The newest venue on Tynemouth’s Front Street, Grace Kelly’s offers a taste of Ireland across its food and drink offering – with a buzzing atmosphere and live music every weekend. The bar at the top of Front Street has been refurbished throughout and opened in February 2024 with a menu of crowd-pleasing dishes – from Guinness-battered fish and chips and a smash burger with Irish cheddar and Jameson’s mayo, to a butternut squash curry and a steak and Guinness pie. Toast
Toast serves up a fun, nostalgia-evoking brunch menu by day and Neopolitan-style pizza by night. Brunch is available 9am-3pm and pizza is served 4pm-late. The brunch menu features a range of dishes – from grilled cheese toasties, BLTs and croque madam to Turkish and North African eggs, Craster kippers with Toast’s own hash brown and devilled egg, and a salt beef Reuben crumpet. Tynemouth Castle Inn
The Inn Collection Group’s Tynemouth Castle Inn offers a lot for foodies – from a wide-ranging pub menu of local favourites and seasonal produce to Oswin’s fish and chip shop and Cones ice cream parlour. Opened in late-2023 after a 14-month refurbishment, the pub with rooms is just a stone’s throw from Tynemouth’s Longsands and has 72 bedrooms. The pub menu – served from noon-9pm – features local fish and shellfish as well as seasonal dishes such as a pheasant kiev and venison mince and dumplings. There’s also brunch from 10am to 5pm, and full grill and pizza menus. The standalone Oswin’s and Cones are also open daily, and are perfect places to treat yourself after a walk on the beach.
