Two star bakers, top television presenters and the BBC MasterChef Champion of Champions are among the famous faces heading to this year’s Seaham Food Festival.
Durham County Council has announced the full chef lineup which will be joining headliner John Torode at this year’s festival – which returns on Saturday August 2 and Sunday August 3.
BBC MasterChef co-host, chef and culinary author John will be demonstrating how to make a selection of dishes at the festival’s open-air cookery theatre on Sunday.
Festivalgoers can also look forward to demonstrations from TV personality Dean Edwards, 2016 Yes Chef winner Chris Baber, and Great British Bake Off 2024 contestant Nelly Ghaffar on Saturday,
On Sunday, the lineup includes reigning Great British Bake Off champion Georgie Grasso, and 2022 MasterChef Champion of Champions winner Ping Coombes.
Festival favourite and TV presenter Chris Bavin will also be returning to host the cookery theatre across the weekend.
Cllr Lyndsey Fox, Durham County Council’s cabinet member for economy and partnerships, said: “Seaham Food Festival has become one of the region’s best-loved food events, drawing crowds from far and wide and shining a spotlight on County Durham’s spectacular coastline. The cookery demonstrations are always a festival highlight and this year’s line-up is certainly one of the best to-date. We can’t wait to welcome them all to County Durham and provide an opportunity for residents and visitors to be entertained and inspired by their considerable cooking talents.”
