Five venues picked up awards, including the North East Restaurant of the Year – South Shields’ Zeera Indian Cuisine.

I would like to thank everyone who has supported us, and we look forward to continuing to provide the best Indian dining experience possible.”

There was also double success for Newcastle’s My Delhi, which was named Street Food Restaurant of the Year and Customer Experience of the Year.

Meanwhile, Dhamaka in Cramlington was named New Restaurant of the Year North East; Morpeth Tandoori won Takeaway of the Year North East; and Curry Restaurant of the Year North East went to Soho Tavern in Gateshead.
