A new food outlet which celebrates Caribbean food is set to bring some sunshine to STACK Seaburn, while the venue also welcomes the return of YOLO Coffee & Kitchen following its refurbishment and expansion.
Lev’s, which offers an authentic take on the food of Jamaica, has been operating in Newcastle for the past four years and the team behind the takeaway has spread its wings to launch a new outlet in STACK Seaburn.
Theo Bondswell, director of the company, said: “After four years of running the business in Newcastle, we’re excited to expand into the wider North East and bring the real flavour of the Caribbean to Sunderland.”
The menu at STACK Seaburn differs slightly from the Newcastle offering, while still featuring many of the Caribbean’s most celebrated dishes – such as jerk chicken and curried goat.
“We are also going to introduce a street food element with dishes like loaded fries, jerk fries, and mac cheese and fries,” added Theo.
Gemma Dishman, project development director for STACK, added: “This is the first time we’ve offered Caribbean food and it will be a great opportunity for everyone to try something different and delicious. We are very pleased to be the first choice for Lev’s as it expands its brand.”
Meanwhile, YOLO Coffee & Kitchen has reopened after a full refit which has seen its space more than double in size to offer inside seating for 70 customers. The coffee shop will now also serve directly into the plaza – taking over the former Boojie Burger hatch – with the full menu of breakfast classics, pancakes, lunches, and hot and cold drinks available to order.
Joanne Kennedy, food operations director for STACK said: “The decision to invest and expand our beloved YOLO Coffee & Kitchen was an easy one. Since opening in 2021 the coffee shop has proved a popular stop off for dog walkers and customers looking for a cosy spot to enjoy breakfast or lunch, and at peak times often reached capacity. We’re also very excited to be able to offer the full coffee shop menu from the hatch directly into the plaza, giving STACK customers a dessert option, which is often requested in customer feedback.”
The coffee shop will open 8am-7pm, with the internal plaza hatch trading 11am-10pm.
