The best restaurants in Great Britain and Ireland have been recognised in the 2025 edition of The Michelin Guide.
In the North East – Restaurant Pine retained its one-star rating and a Michelin green star, while Newcastle’s Solstice and House of Tides retained their stars, as did Hjem in Northumberland.
Meanwhile, The Ritz in London, which is led by South Shields-born executive chef John Williams, earned two stars for the first time.
The new guide recommends 1,147 restaurants – including 10 restaurants with three stars (one new), 29 restaurants with two stars (3 new), 181 restaurants with one star (22 new), 36 restaurants with a Michelin green star (5 new), and 150 restaurants with a Bib Gourmand (36 new).
The new guide was unveiled during the annual Michelin Guide Ceremony at Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum in Glasgow on Monday February 10.
