Tasting boxes are now available to reserve ahead of the first edition of the Great British Cheddar Challenge, which takes place on Saturday September 16.
Billed as the biggest cheddar event the world has ever seen, the challenge will see cheese lovers from all over the UK participate in an online blind tasting of six carefully chosen cheddars.
The challenge is simple: taste the cheeses and vote for your favourite. The winning cheese will be the most favoured cheese from the six tasted.
Tasting boxes can be pre-ordered now online – with Grate, Jesmond one of the cheesemongers taking part.
At 7pm on September 16, comedian and cheese judge Marcus Brigstocke, along with a panel of cheese aficionados and cheesemakers, will host an online event where attendees will taste the cheeses and vote for their favourite cheddar. They will then have the chance to vote, with the winner of the People’s Choice Award set to be announced during the Big Cheese Weekender in October.
