Backworth Hall hosts its first Gin Festival December 1-2 with some of the region’s most exciting spirit brands taking over the 18th Century Hall for two days of tastings, music and food from 4pm-midnight each day.
More than 20 gin and spirit brands from across the region will be at the event including Black Storm Brewery, Longsands Gin, Newcastle Gin, Sedgefield’s Sanction Gin and Sunderland’s Poetic License Distillery.
Exciting brands from further afield will also be part of the event including Whitley Neill, The Lakes Distillery, Edinburgh Gin, Pinkster Gin, GinTing and many more.
Tickets for the event are £12 and include a free drink and gin glass.
Event organiser and Backworth Hall bar manager Craig Miller says: “Gin is the drink of the moment and with so many innovative, growing brands on our doorstep we wanted to showcase our stunning location as well as the work of so many talented North East producers.
“We can’t wait to welcome everyone to the Hall for this first event, and to become a venue for more top quality events in the weeks and months to come.”
Backworth Hall is a Grade II-listed miners’ welfare, which is home to a stunning wedding and function venue as well as golf, cricket, bowls, archery and croquet clubs serving the local communities of Backworth, Shiremoor, West Allotment and beyond.
