Mark at The Runhead

Around the world in eight beers at The Runhead

The Runhead, Ryton is offering a chance to travel the world from the comfort of a barstool with a passport to pints.

Inspired by Phineas Fogg’s epic 80-day adventure, The Runhead – owned by Newcastle operator Malhotra Group plc – has sourced beers from eight countries across the globe.

Beers in the challenge include Asahi from Japan, Cobra from India, Jamaican Red Stripe, Tyskie from Poland, and Mahou from Spain. There’s also Chang from Thailand, Pravha from the Czech Republic, and Blue Moon from the USA.

Those who get their Passport to Pints stamped having tried each one will get a free pint added to their Maloyalty card and have the chance to win tickets to a Brewdog Beer School tasting event.

The challenge – which runs from the start of June until the end of August – has been created by business manager Mark Johnson. He said: “Very often, drinkers find a pint they like and stick with it and although this challenge is a bit of fun, we wanted to introduce our customers to drinks they wouldn’t normally come across unless they travelled outside the UK.”
