Pine shortlisted for sustainable wine award

Vanessa Stoltz – Restaurant Pine

The team from Restaurant Pine has been shortlisted in the Sustainable Award category of the annual Star Wine List of the Year Awards for the UK.

The award recognises the sustainable commitment of both the wine list and broader venue, and is judged against a stringent set of criteria.

Pine, recently named in the top 10 most sustainable restaurants in England by the 360 Eat Guide, claimed a Silver Star in the same category in 2025. This year they’re hoping to go one better and take home gold.

The awards return to UK for the sixth time on March 23, with the 66 shortlisted finalists gathering at 1 Hotel Mayfair.

There are 13 categories in total – including Best Austrian List, Best Spanish List, Best By-The-Glass List, and Best Medium List. Ten categories are classed as international, meaning winners will be entered into the Star Wine List of the Year Global Final 2026, which takes place in June in southern Sweden in association with Terra Skåne.

Restaurant Pine’s restaurant manager and head sommelier, Vanessa Stoltz, said: “I’m thrilled that we’ve been shortlisted in the sustainability category and hopefully we can go one better than the silver we earned in 2025. Pine’s philosophy is rooted in using only the finest seasonal, locally sourced ingredients from independent suppliers, from nose-to-tail butchery to extensive preservation techniques, all in the pursuit of cooking as sustainably as possible. The same ethos runs through our drinks list, and hopefully the judges recognise the lengths we go to in finding inspiration in what’s right on our doorstep.”
