Alnwick’s Turnbull’s Northumbrian Food Hall and Whitley Bay’s Nicholsons Butchers have been named among the finalists in the North of England (Large) category of the first British Butchery Awards.
The two multi-generation businesses will compete against Ripon-based Farmison for the North of England (Large) title at this year’s British Butchery Awards – which have been organised by National Craft Butchers, a trade association with more than 136 years of experience supporting and championing independent butchers. The awards are judged by industry experts, who assess each finalist on their craft skills, sustainability, business success, commitment to the trade and butchery skills.
Finalists from across the UK now face further judging and mystery shops before winners are announced at the awards dinner on Monday June 30.
