Have your cake – and decorate it – as part of the Sunderland Food and Drink Festival

Sunderland schools and community groups are being asked to show their creativity and what they love about their city through the medium of cake.

The challenge will be part of this year’s Sunderland Food and Drink Festival, which is running during June, with organisations interested in taking part being asked to register now. It’s free to take part, with Sunderland BID footing the bill for each organisation’s large white iced, sponge sheet cake and goody bag with cake decorating items to turn into an edible work of art which brings to life an aspect of the city.

Any organisation wanting to register should contact Roberta Dambrauskaite by emailing roberta@sunderlandbid.co.uk

The Sunderland Food and Drink Festival has been created by Sunderland BID and Sunderland City Council, and will feature a mix of virtual and real events. The Sunderland Cake Challenge is part of a programme of events taking place during the month-long festival, which will include virtual sessions with celebrities, cookalongs and special dining experiences.
